Description
Module Overview
Paint Robot Troubleshooting introduces trainees to standardized troubleshooting and common paint robot issues when working in an automotive manufacturing paint booth environment. Trainees are introduced to the paint robot and booth, standard troubleshooting steps involving moisture on or around the robot, and the most common problems and resolution steps to get the robot and production line back up and running. This module is designed for trainees with basic to intermediate automotive manufacturing paint robot experience.

Course Objective:
Students successfully completing this course will be able to:
- Operate the tools in the virtual environment
- Identify the common parts of the paint robot.
- Demonstrate understanding of the key safety procedures and their purpose at a high level, such as ensuring the robot is in maintenance position, ensuring process air is locked out, lockout/tagout procedures have been completed, Clean out and Super Purge, and that proper PPE equipment is worn.
- Demonstrate a lockout / tagout procedure.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the key safety procedures before entering the paint booth through a safety checklist they must complete each time they enter the booth. Trainees will be introduced to the supply and return valves in the paint booth..
- Demonstrate how to follow a precise, standardized sequence to identify the cause of paint spit/drips and the proper resolution steps.
- Demonstrate how to follow a precise, standardized sequence to identify the likely cause of the moisture, and the proper resolution steps.
- Demonstrate how to follow a precise, standardized sequence to identify moisture at the Applicator Quick Disconnect, the likely cause of the moisture, and the proper resolution steps.
- Demonstrate how to follow a precise, standardized sequence to identify an isolation line pinhole leak and the proper resolution steps.
- Demonstrate how to follow a precise, standardized sequence to identify a leaking paint valve, the likely cause of the leak, and the proper resolution steps.
- Resolve one or more random troubleshooting scenarios where they must demonstrate the proper troubleshooting steps, identification of the issue, and the proper resolution steps.
