Welding: Introduction to SMAW (6-1-26)
Topics include Safety, Power Source, Equipment Setup, Polarity and selecting the correct electrode for the welding processes. The class will perform striking an arc, welding fillet welds in the 1F, 2f, 3f, and 4f positions on carbon steel plate. There are no prerequisites for this class. This class is designed to give you the basic understanding and skill to perform (SMAW) in the maintenance, construction, and production.
