Description
This class will provide an overview of the equipment for Gas Metal Arc welding. Topics include Safety, Power Source, Wire Feeders, Welding Guns, Equipment Setup, and Consumables. The class will perform striking an arc, Fillet weld in the 1f, 2f, 3f, and 4f positions on carbon steel plate. There are no prerequisites for this class. This class is designed to give you the basic understanding and skill to perform (GMAW) in the maintenance, construction, and production.

Introduction to GMAW provides a comprehensive overview of the gas metal arc welding (GMAW) process and its equipment. GMAW is a semi-automatic or automatic process that uses a consumable electrode and a shielding gas. GMAW equipment includes a power source, wire electrode, wire feeder, shielding gas, and welding gun.
