This course provides an introduction to the Omron family of PLC’s. Basic terminology, memory structures, and PLC operations are defined. I/O addressing is discussed as well as numbering systems including binary, BCD, hexadecimal, and decimal. The class also provides basic programming skills for Omron PLC’s. The course will cover wiring to and from the PLC, memory area definitions, and mapping. I/O allocations, control strategies, and an introduction to programming. Computers will be provided to ensure hands-on experience creating PLC I/O tables, PLC programming, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Basic computer skills are required. Electrical safety knowledge is preferred.
