AIDT is pleased to introduce Martin Nelson as the new manager of the Alabama Robotics Technology Park. Nelson brings an impressive 32-year manufacturing background in the North Alabama region, having worked with companies such as Nichols Aluminum, Rehau, Tyco, Strata-Form, Remington, and Jack Daniels Cooperage. His 20 years of dedicated experience in Maintenance/Operations management, combined with an Industrial Electronics Degree from Wallace State and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) from Faulkner University, position him as a seasoned leader in the field.
Nelson’s commitment to excellence is further demonstrated by his Six Sigma/Lean Green Belt with TYCO and a Six Sigma/Black Belt from UAH, highlighting his expertise in driving operational efficiency and quality improvement initiatives.
In his new role as the manager of the Alabama Robotics Technology Park, Nelson plays a crucial part in this unique initiative, supported by AIDT. As Alabama’s workforce development agency, AIDT is dedicated to training the state’s workforce to meet the demands of advanced manufacturing technologies. The RTP, under Nelson’s leadership, stands as a cutting-edge facility where industry professionals, students, and trainees engage with state-of-the-art robotics and automation technologies.
Under Nelson’s leadership, the RTP is set to continue its mission of fostering innovation and excellence in the manufacturing sector.
On a personal front, Martin enjoys spending time with his wife, Amy, their four children, and four grandchildren. The Nelson family shares a passion for golf, often embarking on adventures to new golf destinations, creating lasting memories both on and off the course.
