The Alabama Robotics Technology Park in Tanner received unconditional approval as an ISO 9001-2015 training provider under AIDT’s ISO certification. The addition of the RTP brings the number of AIDT facilities that are ISO 9001-2015 certified to six.
“The Alabama Robotics Technology Park is a world-class training facility featuring company specific robotics training programs,” said Ronnie Smith, assistant director for AIDT in North Alabama. “To receive this certification just proves our commitment to continuous improvement of our training system is exceptional.”
AIDT Executive Director and Deputy Secretary of Commerce for Workforce Development Ed Castile said, “AIDT’s commitment to being the best workforce development agency in the country took a step forward today with the certification of the RTP. Since AIDT’s initial ISO 9001-2001 certification in 2005, companies have come to recognize that not only do we do good work, it’s backed up, on paper, by the certification.”
The Alabama Robotics Technology Park opened in November 2010 with the completion of the 60,000 square foot Robotics Maintenance Training Center. This was followed by the Advanced Technology Research and Development center in 2013 and the Integration, Entrepreneurial and Paint Dispense Training Center in 2016. The center also has two mobile training labs that can be deployed at schools and other sites and are used to bolster interest in robotics and automation with k-12 students.
In addition to the RTP, the AIDT Maritime Training Center in Mobile, the Montgomery Regional Workforce Training Center, and the AIDT offices in Montgomery, Mobile (Brookley) and the Huntsville Center are ISO 9001-2015 certified.
