Course Description

This course covers the basic features of AutoCAD. The student will learn how to use the various drawing and editing features of AutoCAD, this will include the various methods of command entry, display tools, command prompts, selection tools, inquiry tools, and the introduction of dimensioning, layers, and prototype drawings.

• Creating new AutoCAD drawing,
• Editing existing AutoCAD drawings
• Interacting with AutoCAD's Graphical User Interface (GUI)
• Information input
• AutoCAD's display commands
• AutoCAD's drawing tools
• AutoCAD's editing tools
• AutoCAD's information tools

Course Objective

Upon completion of this course, participants should be familiar with the 2D capabilities of AutoCAD in addition to basic AutoCAD operation, AutoCAD related terminology and computer operation.

Prerequisite

Previous experience and understanding of Windows-based computer usage is helpful.
Recommended previous courses: Blueprint reading for machinists.
