FANUC Electrical Maintenance-R30iA Controller

Course Description

Electrical courses are designed for maintenance personnel responsible for installing and maintaining the System RS1 configured, R-J2, R-J3, R-J3iB or R-30iA controller. Although Robot Operations is not a prerequisite for these courses, the operational aspects covered in these courses are minimal. Note: If a student is required to set up and program the robot, the Robot Operations or application programming class is also recommended Proper Clothing is required! No Shorts, No jewelry, No tank tops, No open toed shoes, sandals or flip flops!  This is strictly enforced! Basic computer skills are required. Windows 98, 2000, XP knowledge is preferred. Electrical Safety Knowledge is preferred.

Course Objective

• Understand the Operator Panel function • Understand the Teach Pendant Screen layout • Understand the Teach Pendant LEDs • Understand the Teach Pendant Keys and their functions • Safely power up the robot from complete shutdown • Manipulate the robot using the teach pendant • Jog the robot in Joint mode • Jog the robot in World Cartesian frame • Reset from a Singularity fault • Run a Zero program • Run a Home program • Run a Clean In program • Run a Clean Out program • Reset from minor faults • Reset a Chain Fault • Recognize and describe major robot components • Troubleshoot Class 1, 2 and 3 faults • Recognize and describe major internal controller components • Understand the operation, function, LEDs, of each component • Understand how to replace each component • Zero Master the robot • Fixture Master the robot • Single Axis Master the robot • Force, Simulate, Monitor I/O of the robot and system • Understand the different type of I/O hardware

Recommended safety procedures integrated into all training exercises.

The course consists of lectures, demonstrations, and a series of lab exercises designed to reinforce what the student has learned.

In addition to lab exercises, a pre-test and post-test used to measure mastery of objectives.

Prerequisite - sucessfully completed an instructor-led  FANUC Level 1 Programming and Operations class such as HandlingTool, ArcTool, PalletizingTool, etc.
